Our Third

We told a lot of our family already but I thought I would post just in case anyone else didn't hear we're having our Third little Girl :) It was a big shocker that's for sure because as I said in my last post we all thought it was a boy.  It took 2 days to sink in but now I'm kind of relieved.  A girl is constant for me.  A girl is safe.  A girl is as they say "Sugar and Spice" and couldn't be more true in our household.  Chris is a real man for putting up with all the estrogen in our lives and I'm sure he'll be blessed for it.  If he had his way, he would request to be blessed by getting an elk or deer this year when he goes hunting but that's another obsession......errrr i mean story in and of itself.

We settled on a name yesterday.  I wanted this name when we were having Maya just a year ago today, which is crazy to me.  Yes she is 1 year old today, and I'm already half way done with this pregnancy what were we thinking :) Anyway we changed our minds and really thought we should name her Maya after Chris's Mayan roots so this time I was back on board with the original name I loved.  After coaxing and persuading Chris to stop thinking in Spanish and get past what it means in Spanish we are going to name this sweet little baby after my Great Grandma Heap.  So we'll soon have Jayda, Maya, and little Leona Ray!  I can't wait to meet her and see if she's as sweet as Grandma Heap was.

My grandmother (my great grandmas daughter) was so thrilled when I called to tell her.  She informed me that Grandma Heaps mothers name was also Leona which I think is fun.  I was mostly thrilled because there are a million Heaps in our family and no one has snagged the name yet.  I'll have to post a picture of my Great Grandma on here I was young when she died but I have one distinct memory of her, we picked cucumbers from her garden and she would cut them up and have a bowl of vinegar on the table in her kitchen and a bunch of salt and pepper out and I remember I didn't want to eat it because the vinegar smell was throwing me off.  She coaxed me along and I tried it and fell in love.  I remember eating like a whole bowl.  That's probably where my love of Pickles and cucumbers started.  Thank you Grandma Heap and happy to soon name our little girl after you :)

I'm excited for you to have another girl! I come from a family of 5 girls and no boys and it was so much fun! I wouldn't have it any other way. My sisters are my best friends and I love how close we all are. Your sweet girls will be the same :)
