Maya Ray

Our little Maya Ray arrived 4 hours after my birthday at 3:50 am! I started having contractions at Midnight on Sunday so I guess it started with my birthday and ended with it as well :) I had them all day and pretty close together. This was a whole new experience since I was induced with Jayda and never really had to feel more then about 30 min. of pain before I got my epidural. Anyway I had contractions all day long not a fun way to spend the day I was turning 25 but it was exciting to think the time was close. At about 7pm they kicked into high gear. We were at my parents and I just decided they were too close and strong to wait so Alexa and Bailey came home with us to stay with Jayda and off to the hospital we went. I was monitored for about an hour when we got there and then they said yes you're about a 6 so we're going to keep you. I was so relieved and only wanted drugs at that point. A couple hours later around 2 am I got the best thing ever....the EPIDURAL!!! And then at 3:50 am little Maya was born. She weighed 5lbs 13oz. and measured 20 in. long Her and Jayda were so similar it's not even funny. Here are their stats:

Jayda: Born 36 weeks 3 days
Maya: Born 36 weeks and basically 3 days b/c she was born 3 hours after that

Jayda: 5lbs 11oz
Maya: 5 lbs 13oz

Jayda: 19 and 1/2 inches long
Maya: 20 inches long

It was funny how similar they were and how much they look alike. I can't wait to see how they will get along as she grows up.

Before the epidural lol thanks for taking this MOM! I'm pretty sure I wanted to kill someone at this point.

My parents...mostly my mom was so into looking at the contractions on the monitor. They were a lot farther apart here but oh they didn't stay that way!

The two grandmas waiting for Maya to come

Now ALOT closer!

I was in labor and Grandpa was sleeping :) Love it.

My nurse April. She rocked! Totally a different experience when you have a awesome nurse who knows what she's doing.

Maya's first pictures

Jayda holding Maya for the first time.

Jayda loves her so much! She was a little possesive of her at the hospital. She wanted to feed her, hold her, and push her in the bassinet thing. Any time a nurse would come to check on her or take her down to the nursery for her Jaundice stuff to be under the lights Jayda would be mad and say, "No, that's my sister!" We had to really explain to her that she'd be okay and come back lol

Apparently this was Jayda's hotel room and not my resting place.

Jayda took this little photo notice the chopped off heads :)

She also took this

and this......I have no idea why she felt the need to use the camera but hey the shots could've been worse.

So happy she came out with hair.

She came back from the nursery with a bow on her head. Not sure I really liked it all that much but it was kinda cute!

Congratulations!!!! She is beautiful. It's slightly unfair that you look so good in hospital pictures, but I'm super excited for you anyway! Welcome, Maya.
